About the NCGG Internship Programme

Under the NCGG Internship Program, "selected students" work for a minimum of eight weeks and a maximum of six months in a variety of verticals and units within the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Government of India's National Centre for Good Governance. The participation is only intended to be temporary in order to empower Indian young by exposing them to a variety of topics linked to public policy and governance and including them in potential solutions to overcome obstacles to citizen-centric governance. Interns do not have the right to look for full-time work with the Center after being accepted into the internship program. A certain domain or topic may be delegated to interns to work on.
 
The aim is to enhance academic research and the operations of NCGG by collaborating with the nation's young talent and refining their theoretical education through practical methods. The purpose of this program is to expose students to topics connected to public policy and governance for their mutual benefit.


Eligibility Criteria

prospective candidate for the NCGG internship shall have to meet following eligibility criteria:

  • Internship programme is open for all Indian students studying in India or abroad.
  • Internship is open to students with  graduation degree and/ or are pursuing their post-graduation/ PG Diploma and advance academic degrees and are interested to intern as part of their dissertation/ capstone project in their curriculum or awaiting their degree certificate after appearing in their final examination in the same academic year.
  • Students enrolled in 4 or 5–year courses in law and engineering may also apply for the Internship during their final year of  graduation.
  • The age of the candidate shall not exceed 30 years at the time of application.
  • Applicant has to upload a letter of recommendation from their university/ institution, where he/ she is enrolled.


Time Frame

In order to successfully complete the internship and be eligible for an experience certificate, the duration of the internship should normally not be fewer than 8 (eight) weeks or more than 6 (six) months.

Logistics and Support 

Interns must arrange their own transportation, housing, meals, and other accommodations. They also need to bring their own laptops. NCGG will supply workspace, internet access, and other needs as determined by the supervisor in question.

Honoraria

During their approved internship duration, each intern will get a prorated monthly consolidated stipend/honorarium of INR 10,000, depending on how well they complete the task. Nothing further needs to be paid for.

Certificate of Experience

On the advice of the intern's supervisor and the evaluation committee, the Center will award a certificate attesting to the intern's successful completion of the NCGG Internship.

Internship Termination

The NCGG solely has the authority to choose applicants for its internship program, and they will only do so if they fulfill the requirements outlined in this document. Any intern may have their internship terminated by the Center at any time, for any reason, and the Center's decision in this matter is final. Any intern may decide to end their internship by providing their supervisor with one week's notice in advance.
